Job summary

Pascack Valley Regional High School District in Montvale, NJ is seeking a Custodian to perform cleaning and maintenance across school buildings and grounds. Under supervision, you will maintain equipment and support students, staff and visitors with a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include securing buildings, floor care, restroom cleaning, waste management, snow removal, and assisting with events. Strong reliability and ability to follow directions are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; follow supervisor orders.
• Experience in building and cleaning maintenance is desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at beginning and end of shift to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean rugs and blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows and doors; remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Replace light bulbs and set up/break down furniture for meetings and events.
• Assist with snow removal and grounds maintenance; receive deliveries and transport supplies.
• Empties wastebaskets and participate in recycling program.
