Job summary

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is seeking a Custodian I to perform routine cleaning and custodial duties at assigned school site(s) and facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, classrooms, and related areas, setting up furniture for events, and reporting maintenance needs.

The position requires a valid California driver's license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of custodial experience.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver's License.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• One year custodial experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and safe handling of chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and custodial functions at assigned site.
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts offices, classrooms and related facilities.
• Picks up paper debris and empties trash receptacles.
• Replaces lights in light fixtures.
• Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor polishers.
• Locks and unlocks doors to ensure security of buildings.
• Assists in setting up furniture for events and meetings.
• Observes and reports maintenance repairs.
• Responds to emergency clean-ups and spills.
