Job summary

Show Low Unified School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in school buildings and surrounding areas. The role involves cleaning, sanitation, and basic maintenance to support daily operations and a healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The position works with the facilities team and school staff, following district standards and safety practices. High school diploma preferred; IVP clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
• Ability to work independently and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Daily Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other building areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch areas, including door handles, handrails, and light switches.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
