Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Custodian I to keep district facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained so the educational program runs smoothly. You will perform cleaning, restocking, building security, seasonal grounds work, and summer deep cleaning, while helping staff and students access needed spaces and equipment.

This position requires five days per week (Mon–Fri) on an assigned shift, year-round, with snow removal and other events as needed; you must meet the physical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• Available to work five days per week on assigned shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal grounds work, including snow removal, sanding and salting, and lawn care.
• Clean and maintain designated spaces and equipment in the building.
• Restock disposable items and provide the supervisor with inventory usage data.
• Assist members of the public using the facilities with directions and with obtaining and setting up needed equipment.
• Maintain building and grounds security, including locking and unlocking doors and reporting safety concerns.
• During the summer, move furniture, strip, scrub, and wax floors, and return furniture.
