Job summary

Franklin County Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper/Facilities Assistant to support district operations for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year.

Responsibilities include maintaining buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas; regulating HVAC for seasonal comfort and efficiency; performing grass cutting, tree trimming, snow plowing, and basic repairs; and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Maintain buildings and grounds including sidewalks, driveways and play areas.
• Perform general maintenance and basic repairs as needed.
• Follow safety rules and procedures; comply with local waste disposal laws.
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal upkeep as required.

Responsibilities

• Keep all buildings, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean.
• Regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning for seasonal comfort and efficiency.
• Perform grass cutting, tree trimming, and other grounds-keeping tasks.
• Unlock doors before school and secure them after students depart.
• Shovel, plow, and maintain steps, walks, and parking areas as needed.
• Report major repairs promptly and assist with minor repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, restrooms, classrooms, offices, and hallways.
• Move furniture as required and manage supplies inventory.
