Fort Gibson Public School in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities across district sites. This full-time role handles floor care, cleaning, restrooms, furniture, and basic maintenance under the direction of site principals and the Director of Operations.

Starting immediately, 261-day calendar, 12-month employment. Applicants should be able to lift up to 65lbs, work around dust and chemicals, and follow district safety procedures.

Competenze

• Required lifting from/to overhead and moving of parts, supplies, boxes and equipment (up to 65lbs).
• Ambulation, bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking.
• Push/pull up to 55lbs pressure.
• Ability to read and comprehend district policies, operating manuals, MSDS.
• Ability to work around dust, fumes, and other exposures related to job.

• Follow work schedule as written or directed.
• Perform floor care on various floor types (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, sanitizing).
• Clean and dust furniture, cabinets and fixtures in assigned areas.
• Clean doors, windows, sills and walls in classrooms and entrances.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, toilets, washbasins, mirrors and drinking fountains.
• Clean marker/chalk boards and erasers.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles.
• Drive district vehicles as required.
• Report vandalism, damage, and items needing repair to proper authority.
• Lock/unlock offices and classrooms for security on your shift.
• Replace defective light bulbs as directed.
• Operate cleaning equipment per safety standards.
• Read MSDS and handle chemicals safely.
• Participate in performance evaluations.
• Maintain cleaning equipment daily.
• Perform other duties as directed by administrators.
• Follow district safety procedures.
• Coordinate and assist in room set-up when needed.
• Perform routine maintenance including painting, carpentry, plumbing when assigned.
• Apply Hazardous Waste Procedures when handling waste.
• Promote energy conservation by turning off lights and adjusting thermostats.
• Promote a positive professional image.
• Perform other duties as directed by administrators.
