Grain Valley R-5 School District is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities across Grain Valley, Missouri. The role covers classrooms, hallways, and common areas, with responsibilities for HVAC assistance, lighting, and security checks.

A 12-month schedule and non-exempt status apply, with a starting date of immediately. Candidates must be dependable, physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds, and able to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Dependable and self-motivated
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs and work on feet for long periods
• Able to stoop, bend, climb ladders and reach overhead
• Able to read labels, instructions and other materials
• Willingness to work in all climate weather

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times
• Assists with HVAC regulation to maintain suitable temperatures and conserve energy
• Shovels, plows, and applies ice melt to walkways and driveways
• Checks exit doors and ensures building security daily
• Cleans classrooms and dusts furniture daily
• Cleans corridors and disinfects toilets daily
• Replace light bulbs as directed to ensure proper lighting
• Inspects electrical cords, lights and outlets for safety
• Keeps custodial equipment clean and in good order
• Reports safety concerns to Custodial Supervisor and Director of Operations
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and principals
