Job summary

Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation is seeking a dedicated Custodian to help keep schools clean, safe and welcoming for students and staff. The role includes daily cleaning tasks, trash removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, and basic repairs as needed.

The position follows a 260-day work calendar with standard hours of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, and is classified as hourly non-exempt.

Qualifications

• The preferred candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience in maintenance and/or custodial work is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper cleaning solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools used in routine maintenance.
• Ability to keep the school clean and orderly.
• Professional interaction with staff, students, parents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spaces for the next day by removing trash and tidying surfaces.
• Sweep, mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers; restock disposables.
• Wipe mirrors and windows; maintain outer entrances.
• Maintain a neat janitors room and stocked supplies.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Report major damages and oversee repairs.
