Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment across district facilities. The role follows a 218-day contract and is salaried but non-exempt, reporting to the Principal or Designee.

Responsibilities include cleaning, preventative maintenance, inventory management, and adhering to safety protocols while supporting students, staff, and visitors in a positive, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic cleaning, floor and restroom care, and equipment maintenance knowledge.
• Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and working from ladders/scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Accept direction from Head Custodian, Supervisor, or Administrator.
• Perform custodial and preventive maintenance in all district areas.
• Clean woodwork, walls, furniture, and windows with approved products.
• Operate mops, vacuums, waxers, and other cleaning equipment.
• Climb multilevel stairwells and ladders to complete tasks.
• Move furnishings as needed for cleaning and events.
• Maintain equipment and supply inventories; restock when needed.
• Follow written and oral instructions; adhere to safety procedures.
