Job summary

Howard County Public School System is seeking a skilled Mechanic, Door and Hardware to install, maintain, and repair commercial doors and hardware across the school system. You will perform preventative maintenance, re-key cores, and assist with automatic door operators, under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; three years in commercial door and hardware work.
• Experience with lock servicing, re-keying, and installation/repair of metal/wood doors.
• Preferred: AAADM certification and related training in door hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and maintain commercial doors and related hardware.
• Perform preventative maintenance and report deficiencies.
• Re-key cores and maintain keying records; troubleshoot automatic door openers.
• Respond to emergencies to restore secure access; follow safety procedures.
