Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with SC license in good standing.
• Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
• Willing to obtain BLS/Heartsaver Instructor certification if needed.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel between school locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing coverage at assigned schools and travel between locations.
• Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments as authorized.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and follow health plans.
• Maintain confidential student health records and documentation.
• Communicate with parents, school staff and healthcare providers.
• Conduct health screenings and assist with immunization/compliance.
• Promote health education, hygiene and wellness among students.
• Follow district policies and health and safety requirements.
• Support emergency preparedness and participate in district health activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by District Director of Health Services.
