Blue Springs School District seeks a Transportation Mechanic to maintain and repair district vehicles, inspect safety systems, and support transportation operations for 2026-2027.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostic work, minor body repairs, maintaining records, supervising an assistant, and responding to road calls; diesel/gas engines experience preferred; high school diploma required.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Diesel Mechanic Certified preferred; ability to be certified required.
• Experience with diagnosing vehicle malfunctions and performing preventive maintenance.
• Ability to operate school buses and district vehicles.
• Knowledge of safety practices and record keeping.

Mansioni

• Assesses incidents and emergencies to determine resolution.
• Cleans vehicles interior and exterior for cleanliness and safety.
• Diagnoses vehicle malfunctions to determine repairs.
• Drives bus routes and field trips as needed.
• Maintains repairs logs and parts lists; uses systems like Zonar.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor body work.
• Oversees Mechanic Assistant and others to ensure completion of tasks.
• Responds to road calls for emergency repair in the field.
• May work weekends and early hours for events or inspections.
