Job summary

Qualifications

• Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.
• No formal education required.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment and read and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request additional supplies as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup, including arranging tables and chairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
• Report building repair needs to principal or custodial supervisor and move furniture as directed.
• Set up facilities for special events and assist with opening/closing building each school day.
