The position is non-exempt with an 8-hour daily schedule. Strong adherence to safety, attendance, and proper handling of cleaning supplies is required, including background checks and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Alabama driver's license
• Eighteen years of age
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas.
• Checks exit doors and panic bolts during building occupancy.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums classrooms, locker rooms, bathrooms daily and dusts furniture.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors as directed.
• Cleans toilets and floors daily; disinfects fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Washes windows inside and outside at least once a year.
• Makes minor repairs and reports needs for major repairs promptly to the principal.
• Performs other duties within the scope of employment as assigned.
