Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 or higher education campus. The role involves cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas with attention to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
