Job summary

Distinctive Schools is seeking a Custodian Staff for the CICS Longwood location in Chicago, IL. The role reports to the Campus Operations Manager and is a Regular Full Time position.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean and safe facilities, floor care, restroom sanitation, and general upkeep to provide a conducive learning environment for students and staff. Requires HS diploma or equivalent and ability to work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical ability to perform all required work.
• Maintain a professional relationship with supervisors, staff, families, students and the public.
• Work independently and in teams to complete job duties and assignments in a timely manner with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises clean, safe and neat at all times.
• Clean, dust mop, scrub and wax floors and maintain floor finish.
• Dry mop floors in rooms and hallways.
• Clean cafeteria floors and dispose of refuse.
• Move and clean cafeteria tables/benches as needed.
• Clean and vacuum carpeted surfaces.
• Spot clean walls and scrub them as needed.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of refuse.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and stock supplies.
• Change light bulbs.
• Clean whiteboards, chalkboards, and erasers.
• Clean and disinfect water fountains and classroom/desks surfaces.
• Move furniture as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain organized storage closets.
• Inform supervisors when supplies are needed and of any damage.
