Job summary

San Bernardino City Unified School District in California is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial/janitorial tasks across school facilities. You will clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, report repairs, and assist in setting up classrooms for events.

Responsibilities include light maintenance and ensuring security of school property. The role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and about one year of related experience, including driving as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year custodial/janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow established cleaning procedures and safety rules.
• Reliable and punctual with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Cleans inside of buildings following established procedures.
• Reports needed repairs to supervisor.
• Moves supplies, equipment and furniture as required.
• Unlocks gates and doors in mornings.
• Raises school flags and maintains grounds as needed.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, and waxes floors; strips floors in team setting.
• Vacuums/shampoos rugs and carpets; dusts and polishes furniture and whiteboards.
• Cleans rest rooms and empties trash cans.
