Job summary

South Central Elementary School is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain a clean, safe learning environment. This full-time, 261-day position requires 40 hours per week and offers benefits.

You will perform daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, handle floor care, waste disposal, window cleaning, and set up spaces for events. A high school diploma is required and ability to lift and perform physical tasks.

Applicants must pass a nationwide criminal history check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform custodial tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and clean environment that supports student learning and activities.
• Clean classrooms, corridors, stairwells and other areas daily.
• Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop and buff floors as needed, at least daily.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily; restock supplies.
• Clean and polish water fountains and glass displays weekly.
• Clean gym floors, bleachers and concession areas as directed.
• Summer cleaning of all rooms and hallways.
• Set up tables and chairs for events and meetings.
• Report damages to principal or maintenance staff immediately.
