Job summary

Salina Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance/Custodian for South High School. The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., focusing on cleaning duties and ensuring classrooms, offices, and common areas are well maintained.

The ideal candidate will have prior housekeeping/janitorial experience, be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of handling cleaning chemicals and equipment safely. Internal applicants only are considered at this time.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to ensure classrooms, offices, and common areas are in good order year-round.
• Interacts positively with students, faculty and staff; assists with other duties within maintenance and operations as needed.
• Must be self-motivated and able to make on-the-fly assessments with minimal supervision.
