Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to relate well to children, other staff members, and the public.
• Knowledge of the materials, methods, equipment and practices used in cleaning and minor repair operations.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the general cleaning and general maintenance of the facility.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment as prescribed by the Custodial Crew Leader/administrator.
• Follows procedures for routine security and safety for students, staff, and visitors to the facility.
• Reports maintenance/repair needs to Custodial Crew Leader/Administrator.
• Collects and disposes of refuse; facilitates others’ daily disposal of recyclable materials.
• Dusts and cleans furniture.
• Vacuums and mops floors in accordance with standards.
• Cleans windows, walls, desks, sinks, toilets and other areas.
• Keeps areas like walks and playgrounds clean.
