Job summary

Responsibilities

• Participates in general cleaning and general maintenance of the facility.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment as prescribed by the Custodial Crew Leader/administrator.
• Follows procedures for routine security and safety for students, staff, and visitors.
• Reports maintenance/repair needs to Custodial Crew Leader/Administrator.
• Collects and disposes of refuse; facilitates others’ daily disposal of recyclable materials.
• Dusts and cleans furniture.
• Vacuums, dry mops, sweeps, wet mops, strips, waxes and polishes floors in accordance with standards.
• Cleans and washes windows, mirrors, walls, boards, desks, sinks, toilets, and other areas.
• Moves equipment with others when proper and safe.
• Keeps areas clean (walks, driveways, playgrounds).
• Replaces light bulbs and ceiling tiles as needed.
• Sets up and cleans facility after community usage.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Attends job-related workshops and training.
• Assembles furniture and equipment.
• Works additional hours upon reasonable request.
• Maintains good relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
• Performs other duties assigned by the administrator.

• Vacuums, dry mops, sweeps, wet mops, strips, waxes and polishes floors in accordance with SREF standards.


• Cleans and washes windows, mirrors, walls, (chalk) / white boards, desks, sinks, toilets, and other soiled areas.


• Moves, with others, furniture or equipment within the work location when proper and safe moving equipment is available.


• Keeps areas such as walks, driveways, playground areas, etc. clean.


• Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent lamps/other lighting devices, and soiled ceiling tiles, when needed.


• Sets up and cleans facility after community usage of facility.


• Communicates with (Custodial Crew Leader) in maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary, job-related items.


• Attends job-related workshops and training programs.


• Assembles furniture and equipment.


• Works additional hours upon reasonable request.


• Maintains an effective working relationship with students, other employees, and visitors to the facility.


• Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the building administrator.
