Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami is seeking a non-exempt janitorial, custodial and security support to maintain clean and safe classrooms, offices, and facilities aligned with Head Start standards. The role requires physical work, adherence to safety rules, and regular tasks across cleaning, inventory, and minor maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years related experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience and 2 years related experience and/ or training.
Knowledge of occupational hazard and safety rules.
Ability to operate janitorial tools, equipment and supplies, such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds.
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial services.

Responsibilities

Clean and sweep classrooms, office areas, halls and bathrooms; complete restroom daily checklist.
Shampoo carpets and area rugs; wash walls, windows, mirrors and fixers.
Vacuum carpet and area rugs daily; change air conditioner filters and emergency lights batteries as needed.
Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and materials; request supplies when needed.
Report building hazards and non-working conditions to supervisor.
