Responsibilities include routine cleaning, sanitation, responding to spills, following safety procedures, and assisting with setup and breakdown for activities. High school diploma preferred; background screening required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to complete required background screening for working with children.
• Experience in custodial, janitorial, school, childcare, or facility maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, common areas, and other spaces in clean, professional condition.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation according to the site schedule.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Respond promptly to spills and cleaning needs during program hours.
• Assist with program setup, breakdown, and special events.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and facility procedures established by Big Ideas.
• Communicate facility concerns to site leadership promptly.
• Collaborate with teachers, activity leaders, security, and site leadership to support a positive after-school environment.
