Job summary

School District of DeSoto County Memorial Elementary School in Arcadia, Florida invites applications for a Custodian. This position focuses on care, cleanliness, and safety of the school facility and grounds for students and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a satisfactory background check; custodial experience is preferred. The successful candidate will perform routine custodial tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and assist with grounds maintenance while complying

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements related to custodial work.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing; read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial and grounds services to maintain safety and appearance.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment in a safe manner.
• Assist supervisor with custodial, maintenance and safety issues as needed.
• Provide opening and/or securing of the facility as assigned.
• Assist with lifting/moving heavy objects and using proper cleaning techniques.
• Comply with laws and district procedures for storage of materials and trash disposal.
