Job summary

McAllen ISD in McAllen, Texas is seeking a full-time Custodian at Nikki Rowe High School to help maintain the building and grounds for safe, clean facilities. Starting date is immediate, with the hourly pay range shown.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, cleaning floors, restrooms, and windows, assisting with moving equipment, following safety rules, and participating in training. Eligibility requires a high school diploma or GED, a clean driving record, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Clear driving record required
• Texas Class C license preferred
• Experience in custodial services preferred
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive maintenance to keep buildings clean, safe and functional
• Maintain comfortable building temperature and report major repairs
• Inspect daily and report hazards to supervisor
• Assist staff with moving furniture and equipment
• Follow safety procedures and attend safety meetings
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify when restocking is needed
• Attend required meetings and training sessions
• Work outside regular hours for events or maintenance as needed
• Follow cleaning schedules for floors, restrooms, windows and furniture
• Open/close buildings and ensure locks and safety procedures are followed
• Aid in summer painting projects and energy conservation efforts
