ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. The role focuses on maintaining clean, safe spaces and adhering to established cleaning procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairs.
• Sweep, debris removal, spills cleanup, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check and empty trash receptacles in all areas.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Sort and recycle materials into proper receptacles.
• Dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish wood, stainless steel, and other hard surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move furniture using hand trucks when needed.
• Clean interior partitions, glass, windows, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
• Sweep outdoor walkways, rake leaves, and handle seasonal tasks.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and sanitation.
• Adhere to safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
