ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices on school campuses. This on-site role includes coordinating with supervisors and follow-up on repairs, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One year of prior similar work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, and managers.
• Consolidate and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls; polish hard surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
• Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors with cleaners and sponges.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping, raking, or snow removal as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and comply with safety, security, and quality standards.
