Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a Custodian to support Lakeview Public School District in St. Clair Shores, MI. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, carpeting, walls, windows, restrooms, and public areas, as well as assisting with special events and basic repairs.

A high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks are required. The role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work with a diverse team in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and comprehension required for duties.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors.
• Machine shampoo carpeting.
• Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures
• Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors.
• Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trashcans near entrances.
• Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies.
• Change interior light bulbs reachable from ladder
• Complete work requests to notify management of needed repairs
• Remove snow and ice and apply salt or ice melt
• Organize and supply custodial closets as needed
• Move, remove, and set up furniture and equipment for special events
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Drive between locations as needed
