Job summary

Bethel School District in Washington is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety and security of an assigned school facility and prepare buildings for school and public events. The role requires 8 hours per day, 220 days per year, with pay on the PSE Level 5 Salary Schedule at $25.40 per hour.

A pre-placement physical and testing is required and the district will cover the cost. Reporting relationships include the Assistant Director or Manager of Facilities, with guidance

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning equipment and techniques preferred.
• Ability to learn operation of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of safety and security procedures.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned parts of school facility to provide a sanitary and safe environment.
• Opens and/or locks building doors and operates alarms for security.
• Sets up and takes down equipment and furniture for events and meetings.
• Performs major summer cleaning to prepare buildings for the school year.
• Maintains communication with students, staff and the public for safety and public relations.
