Job summary

Caswell County Schools is seeking a dedicated custodian (12 months) at the Central Office in Yanceyville, North Carolina. The role includes general custodial and light groundskeeping tasks, such as floor care, restroom cleaning, and basic maintenance, reporting to the Principal.

Starting date is October 1, 2026, with a flexible schedule and duties that may include minor maintenance and event setup. High school diploma preferred; prior custodial experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Some custodial work experience or equivalent training.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Ability to operate janitorial equipment and perform medium physical work.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, strips, waxes and buffs floor surfaces.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies; cleans windows and fixtures.
• Dusts desks and furniture; empties trash and recyclables.
• Sweeps sidewalks and polices grounds; shovels snow or applies de-icing compounds as needed.
• Replaces burned-out light bulbs.
• Prepares requisition forms for cleaning supplies for upcoming week.
• Open/close buildings; adjust heating/AC as appropriate.
• May arrange furniture for meetings or events.
