Job summary

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) seeks a School Custodian in Downingtown, PA to maintain a clean, safe school environment for students. You will perform daily cleaning, maintenance tasks, and operate after-hours independently in a setting serving children and teens with developmental needs.

Pay rate ranges from $17.00 to $19.38 per hour, with shifts 3pm–11pm or 4pm–12am. Paid training, professional development, and a career accelerator program are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a health care setting.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to work after school hours.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

The Center for Autism Research and Educational Services (CARES), located in Downingtown, PA is seeking a School Custodian to ensure the building is clean and safe for the students daily.

Every day a as School Custodian you will...

• Ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Perform daily maintenance duties as needed
• Work independently after the operating school hours
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, offices, and bathrooms daily

You Will Be Offered

• Pay Rate: $17.00 - $19.38/hr (based upon experience)

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS)

center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

EDUCATION: Trade or High School Diploma /GED

EXPERIENCE: Training requires at least two years commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a health care setting. Knowledge of general maintenance activities is essential. Must be 21 years of age. Two years related experience. Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
