Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a School Crossing Guard to manage pedestrian and vehicular traffic around school zones. You will be responsible for signaling, supervising crossings, and ensuring student safety in all weather conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Virginia driver’s license, and Sheriff’s Office certification. Candidates must be 18+ and capable of working hourly shifts with reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Sheriff’s Office certification required to conduct Crossing Guard duties.

Responsibilities

• Crossing Guard duties before and after school.
• Give clear hand signals to stop traffic until pedestrians cross.
• Monitor signals for safety and enforce proper crossing locations.
• Report hazards or violations to supervisor or Sheriff’s Office.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required by supervisor.
