Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a School Safety Monitor to support crossing guard duties, cafeteria hosting, and on-site safety oversight. Under the principal's supervision, you help keep students safe during arrivals, lunches, and transitions, reporting incidents and hazards promptly.

The role requires a high school diploma, Virginia driver’s license, 18+ years, Sheriff’s Office certification, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Sheriff’s Office Crossing Guard certification mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at crossing points to ensure students cross safely.
• Report traffic hazards and violations to supervisors as soon as possible.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the supervisor or safety office.
• Enforce school rules and report non-compliant behavior to supervisors.
• Assist cafeteria operations by guiding students and maintaining order during lunch periods.
• Provide safety directions and escort students, staff, and visitors to offices or designated locations.
• Monitor facilities and ensure compliance with district safety policies and procedures.
