Job summary

Brevard County is seeking a part-time School Crossing Guard in the Beachside/Satellite Beach/Indialantic area under the Public Safety department. This positions involves 2 hours daily on school days, mornings and afternoons, to help ensure the safe crossing of school-age children at the assigned location.

No formal education is required; prior crossing guard experience or related work with elementary children is preferred. This role is open until filled.

$16.75 hourly. Beachside/Satellite Beach/Indialantic. Part‑time/2 hours daily (mornings and afternoons) on school days. Performs entry‑level protective service work ensuring the safe and orderly crossing of school-age children at his/her assigned location.

REQUIREMENTS

No formal education, training, or experience is required. Experience as a crossing guard or other work with elementary school‑age children is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be of good moral character as determined by a personal background investigation.
• Must be able to pass the Brevard County Performance Checklist for School Crossing Guards prior to assuming School Crossing Guard duties.
• Must have a working home telephone or personal cell phone.
• In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man‑made disaster, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
