Job summary

Most Holy Trinity Catholic Academy in Detroit is seeking a dedicated School Counselor/Social Worker to provide emotional and social support to students and contribute to their academic success.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work or counseling licensure in Michigan, with at least three years of applicable experience. The position is full-time and onsite, with the goal of helping students navigate challenges and thrive in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) with a valid Michigan School Social Worker license, OR
• Michigan Counselor (or School Counselor) License with a master’s degree from an accredited University.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience providing social work or counseling services.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students
• Address social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting students
• Develop and implement programs to support student well-being and academic success
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student needs
• Conduct assessments and provide referrals to external resources when necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions
• Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of student support plans
