Job summary

Most Holy Trinity Catholic Academy in Detroit is seeking a compassionate School Counselor for the 10-month term. This role provides emotional and social support to students, helping them navigate challenges and succeed academically and personally.

The counselor will conduct individual and group sessions, collaborate with teachers and families, and help develop student support plans while maintaining confidential records and participating in school meetings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) with a valid Michigan School Social Worker license, OR a Michigan Counselor license with a master’s degree from an accredited University.
• Must have at least three years of experience providing social work or counseling services.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students
• Address social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting students
• Develop and implement programs to support student well-being and academic success
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student needs
• Conduct assessments and provide referrals to external resources when necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions
• Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of student support plans
