Job summary

Holy Rosary School in Seattle seeks a school counselor to collaborate with homeroom teachers and administration, supporting students and facilitating the implementation of curriculum to promote emotionally safe classrooms.

The counselor may also meet with students individually and lead small groups during lunch or recess, conduct risk assessments as needed, and help strengthen social-emotional learning across grades.

Qualifications

• WA ESA certification preferred; other professional certifications may be considered.
• Experience working with elementary and middle school students and parents in a school setting.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group counseling to support academic and emotional progress.
• Collaborate with faculty and parents to address performance or behavioral concerns and implement interventions.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate classroom lessons to support SEL, conflict resolution, and self-management.
• Use data to assess effectiveness of counseling programs and guide future actions.
• Support schoolwide initiatives related to positive climate, attendance, and student well-being.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
