Job summary

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) seeks a licensed counselor to support student wellbeing, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate resources for gifted adolescents. The role includes collaboration with Residence Life and Student Affairs to promote equity and inclusion while supporting leadership development.

The position requires LCPC/LCSW licensure, experience with high school students, and strong communication.

Qualifications

Master's degree in counseling or related field.
Illinois LCPC/LCSW license required.
Experience in an educational setting.
Experience working with high school age students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel.

Responsibilities

Support the emotional, psychosocial and overall psychological wellbeing of the students.
Assist students adjusting to IMSA's academic and social environment, including solution-focused therapy and crisis intervention.
Assess and refer students and families to appropriate resources.
Coordinate and participate in programs such as Sophomore Seminar and STEP.
Collaborate with Student Affairs and IMSA partners to support students’ social and emotional needs.
Mandated reporting for child abuse and neglect.
