Job summary

Lake Forest Academy seeks a licensed school counselor to support students’ emotional health for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. The role reports to the Dean of Students and collaborates with health services and faculty to provide wrap-around care.

Ideal candidates have licensure (LCSW/LCPC/Clinical Psychologist/Psych APN), experience with adolescents, and a trauma-informed approach. A commitment to equity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed IL professional in specified roles with therapeutic focus.
• Clinical experience with adolescents.
• Trauma-informed approach.
• CPR and YMHFA certifications or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term counseling to students for behavioral, social, emotional concerns.
• Coordinate with health services and DOS for wrap-around care.
• Refer to outside providers as needed.
• Maintain confidential records per policy and law.
• Deliver psycho-education and mental health awareness activities.
• Collaborate with departments on student support.
