Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Mission, TX is seeking a School Counselor to lead family engagement, social-emotional learning, and campus mental health coordination. The role directs campus team accountability and ensures authentic relationships with students and families to support academic and social success.

The counselor will manage data-driven interventions, PD for staff, and collaborate with PEIMS on persistence metrics, while aligning with IDEA’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
• TX School Counselor certification or counseling licensure required.
• Previous school experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the campus vision for family engagement and student SEL.
• Coordinate mental health and counseling supports for scholars.
• Manage and ensure accurate persistence data with PEIMS team.
• Engage families through events and communication platforms (Remind, Smore, Facebook).
