Job summary

The Poudre School District is seeking a 2026-27 Counselor Secondary Long Term Substitute for Wellington Middle/High School in Wellington, Colorado, starting August 3, 2026. This is a full-time, long-term substitute position for Fall 2026.

The counselor will implement a data-driven ASCA-aligned program, provide individual and group counseling, support transitions, and collaborate with staff, families, and community partners while upholding PSD policies and promoting diversity.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field is required.
• Valid Colorado SSP license or Temporary Educator Eligibility required.
• Experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver a data-driven school counseling program based on the ASCA model.
• Provide individual and small group counseling for academic, career, and social-emotional development.
• Deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned with ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors.
• Respond to student crises and refer to appropriate professionals.
• Support student transitions, including registration and grade-level changes.
• Collaborate with administrators, parents/guardians, staff, and community partners.
• Contribute to a positive school culture that respects diverse backgrounds.
