Position Overview

The Hawbridge School, a Title I public charter school committed to place-based learning, restorative practices, inclusion, and mutual respect, is seeking an Upper School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This position supports students in grades 7-12 through individual counseling, small group interventions, academic planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional support. The ideal candidate is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and families, collaborating with colleagues, and fostering a school culture where all students feel seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.



Key Responsibilities


  • Provide individual and small-group counseling services to support students\' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth.

  • Meet regularly with students and families to support academic achievement, college and career planning, and post-secondary readiness. Plan and facilitate college- and career-readiness programs, including hosting college admissions representatives, career exploration events, and informational sessions for students and families.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage student class schedules, including course selection, schedule adjustments, monitoring graduation requirements, and academic pathway planning to ensure students remain on track for graduation.

  • Coordinate and lead new student and beginning-of-year orientation programs, helping students and families successfully transition into the school community.

  • Facilitate and support restorative circles, conferences, and conversations to strengthen relationships and address conflict.

  • Implement targeted individual and group interventions to promote student success and well-being.

  • Follow established protocols for crisis intervention, risk assessment, and student support.

  • Utilize school-wide data to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that address achievement and opportunity gaps.

  • Serve as the school\'s 504 Coordinator, including facilitating meetings, maintaining compliance, and monitoring student accommodations.

  • Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and documentation through Infinite Campus and other required systems.

  • Collaborate closely with the Student Services Team, teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to support student success.

  • Assist with school events and activities, including field trips, parent-teacher conferences, graduation, family meetings, and other special programs.

  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor degree preferred.
