Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Guidance Counselor to support students in New Bedford Public Schools. The successful candidate will address academic, social, and behavioral needs, collaborating closely with families and the community to foster positive educational experiences.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree, relevant certification, and experience in student services or special education. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred. This role aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment for diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Certification in proper area and level by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to at-risk students.
• Assist in the development of a Response to Intervention model.
• Conduct Home Assessments/Visits as required.

Skills
