Job summary

J.V. Washam Elementary School in Charlotte, NC is seeking a General Cleaner to maintain a clean and safe learning environment during school hours. This role is available as a full- and part-time position with 1st shift (school hours).

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, restroom upkeep, and assisting with setup for special functions. A High School Diploma or equivalent and a clear background check are required.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Clear criminal background check.
• Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors.
• Machine shampoo carpeting.
• Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures.
• Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors.
• Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trashcans outside entrances.
• Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies.
• Move, remove, and/or set up furniture for special functions.
