Job summary

The Learning Experience is hiring a School Chef to join our childcare team. You will plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for children, while carefully tracking dietary allergies and communicating them to staff with every delivery.

Responsibilities include following strict food safety practices, coordinating with leadership to purchase supplies, and maintaining inventory in line with regulations. A strong customer-service approach and adaptability are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers with every delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures for safe storage and service.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase needed food and supplies and maintain inventory as required by local/state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude with parents and children, communicating effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily needs of the childcare center.

• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as local and state agencies require.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.

If you have:
