Job summary

The Learning Experience in California is seeking a Preschool Cook to prepare daily nutritious meals for our preschool children. You will follow our menu and recipe book, ensuring meals are appealing and safe for young eaters, and collaborate with teachers to support a healthy center environment.

This role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience, a high school diploma, and a food handling certificate (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children based on our designed menu and recipe book.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center and communicate allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to daily business needs of a childcare center, including non-cooking duties.
