Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates seeks a Chaplain for an independent school in Vero Beach, FL, starting Fall 2026. The role centers on developing a Chaplaincy program across all divisions and providing pastoral care within the school community.

Responsibilities include planning worship services, supporting events with prayers, and fostering spiritual well-being while overseeing budget and curriculum-related duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Divinity, Religious Studies, or related field.
• Experience designing and leading worship services.
• Pastoral ministry experience preferred.
• No teaching license or credential required.
• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with school community activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a meaningful and inclusive Chapel program for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.
• Collaborate with school administration to facilitate pastoral care and counseling for community members as needed.
• Plan and oversee major school worship services and liturgical events.
• Support school events with opening prayers and pastoral presence as requested.
• Promote and encourage the spiritual well-being of the community.
• Oversee school's community service and outreach programs.
• Lead bible study for lower, middle, and upper school students and families.
• Oversee annual Chaplaincy budget ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
• Teach classes as assigned by the Head of School and Division Heads.
