Job summary

Sunrise Transportation is seeking safe, dependable School Car Drivers to transport students to and from school using company-provided SUVs in Bellwood, IL. No prior experience is required; paid training helps you feel confident and prepared.

As a School Car Driver, you’ll create a safe, calm environment for students, follow routes on time, and communicate with dispatch about delays. You’ll uphold safety standards and Sunrise policies while serving families in the community.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 continuous years of driving experience in good standing.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required safety clearances.
• Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to work in a diverse, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting students to and from school using a company-provided SUV
• Following assigned routes and schedules while maintaining punctuality and professionalism
• Creating a welcoming and respectful environment for students during each ride
• Adhering to all traffic laws, safety standards, and Sunrise Transportation policies
• Communicating with dispatch and leadership regarding route updates, delays, or concerns
• Reporting any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly
• Supporting daily transportation operations as needed
