Job summary

Solon High School is seeking Cafeteria Workers (permanent and substitute) to support daily lunch service. You will prepare, serve, and help clean the cafeteria, ensuring a welcoming, nutritious dining environment for students.

Qualifications

• Shall be able to read and follow directions and relate well with fellow employees, students, and staff.
• Shall demonstrate competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Shall present neat in appearance and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food portions and prepares hot and cold cafeteria serving counter.
• Review menu for service and instructions from the Cafeteria Manager for any variations that might occur.
• Maintain adequate supply of all serving utensils as required for the day's menu.
• Maintain all food supplies for necessary lunch periods using judgment and discretion during final lunch period.
• After each lunch serving period, assist in the kitchen as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager in the cleaning of utensils, carts, equipment and wiping of counters.
• Serve students and staff from the serving counter, utilizing equal and required portions.
• Assist in maintaining work area, refrigerators, freezers, and stock room in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
• Work productively with your team and provide friendly service to the students.
• Perform other related tasks as required, including duties at special meal functions, as required by the Cafeteria Manager or Food Service Supervisor.
