Job summary

Solon High School is seeking a Lunch Monitor to supervise students during cafeteria time, help maintain a calm and orderly dining environment, and support a positive lunch experience for all learners.

The role focuses on directing lines, guiding dining etiquette, assisting younger students with utensils, supervising disposal of waste, and coordinating with the Counselor and Building Principal as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food and ensures they sit at assigned tables.
• Encourages proper dining habits, etiquette and nutrition.
• Assists younger students with use of utensils when needed.
• Organizes disposal of food wastes, trays and utensils in an orderly manner.
• Arranges groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom.
• Circulates among tables to assist students and resolve minor issues.
• Reports serious infractions or disruptions to the Counselor.
• Calls Counselor for incidents involving more than two students or any violent incident.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Counselor and Building Principal.
